I have been looking for a way to comment about your latest article Pauly, and I hope you read this. I generally agree with your articles but your latest one about United seemingly wanting to switch to a 4-3-3 is an exception. I think you are missing something, there exists another different variation of a 4-3-3, in fact, I know a coach who will tell you there are a thousand ways to play a single formation, but sticking with what we know, I think Italy's will suit man utd pretty well. Varane (if he signs) takes up the role of Bonucci, Maguire does what Chiellini does by driving up the pitch. This formation will particular benefit Wan bissaka as he can stay deep as part of the back 3 until play reaches the final third, that means Sancho initially keeps the width too, this is not too dissimilar to how Bayern used Coman and Pavard last season, Shaw can do more than Spinazzola in that role as he is naturally left footed, the supposed DM does what Jorginho did, Pogba takes up the role of Verratti who was actually the second highest rated player in the tournament and this role is not too dissimilar to the one he played for France, Fernandes will play the Barella role and drift in between the lines as usual, Rashford/Martial plays the Insigne role and comes inside, Cavani /Greenwood will easily adapt to the Immobile role. It's very balanced in both attacking and defensive phases, so now, there is only one question, this formation is technically a 4-2-3-1, so why change? Well, most fans and especially pundits are not as wise as they sound, the two in the pivot are defensive midfielders to them, perhaps he doesn't want a situation where people think he is holding back Pogba, by having it look on paper as though he has Pogba and Bruno in very attacking positions, some, especially those loud mouthed Twitter fans will at least shut up.
