Excellent. It's clear that you've done a lot of work on this.

United have lost their way over the last couple of seasons. I have my own ideas why but I don't want to prompt part three.

My hypothesis is that United got their forwards firing when they played (for ease of understanding) counter attack.

When United tried to change to utilize more width, bringing the full backs to stretch play, is when some of the better chances start to fall to players like Dalot or Shaw. Throw in the tried and sometimes tested method of pushing Maguire up as emergency striker, or best chances came from set pieces, then we have more defenders getting quality chances.
