It’s the dead of summer, there’s not much going on, and I don’t have too many ideas for what to write about. What does a writer do when they don’t have ideas? Have the readers think of them for him!
I get little questions on Twitter all the time that I just don’t have the space and time to flesh out an answer. Now’s the chance to get those answers.
So get your questions in as over the next few weeks I’m going to try to sit down and provide an old fashioned mailbag.
To submit your questions, reply right to this email or leave a comment on the post. Also just know that I’ll talk about transfers, but I’m not going to answer any questions along the lines of “which player should United target.”
Looking forward to reading your questions.
What kind of team do you think Ten Hag is trying to build from a tactical perspective? What aspects reflect Pep's City or Klopp's Liverpool, or is it another superteam in recent times?
Hi Pauly, really appreciate your works! Could you please share your thoughts on how data analysis has changed football for the last decade and how it will continue to change football? Do you think all play styles will still be viable for a top team and it's all cyclical (dependent on how youth players are developed), or data analysis will continue to steer the game towards an optimal play style (similar to how chess engines help the best chess players)?
Also taking this chance I want to ask something a bit more personal: inspired by your work for the last couple years I have developed a sort of pipe dream of becoming a data analyst for man utd one day. Could you talk more about your background, how you started out, and how do you think I can go about achieving my goal?
